The northernmost neighborhood in the borough of Brooklyn, Greenpoint is bordered by the Brooklyn Queens Expy to the South, and Newton Creek to the North.

Vibe

Greenpoint is a hub for restaurants and nightlife, along with its surrounding neighborhoods in northern Brooklyn. However, it is most distinguished as being the home for many Polish Americans, who have brought about authentic Polish restaurants and quality shops. This cozy neighborhood has something to offer those who enjoy a lively night atmosphere, and to those who prefer a peaceful walk on one of Greenpoint’s quiet, residential streets.

Chinatown

Location

Chinatown is a neighborhood in lower Manhattan. This neighborhood lies in between Little Italy to the North, and Manhattan’s Civic Center to the South.

Vibe

With an enormous population of Chinese Americans, Manhattan’s Chinatown is one of the largest Chinatowns outside of China, as well as being one of the oldest. Most inhabitants from this neighborhood speak Mandarin, but over the recent decades there has been an influx of other various Chinese dialects. There is a countless number of authentic Chinese restaurants, shops, and even pharmacies.

Location

Adjacent to Chinatown in lower Manhattan, Little Italy is a small neighborhood with a high population of Italian Americans. It is situated in between Broome st to the North, Canal st to the South, Lafayette St to the West and the Bowery to the East.

Needless to say, Little Italy goes out of its way to promote an Italian atmosphere within a few small, cobblestone streets. This industrial neighborhood hosts a large amount of Italian restaurants and shops, giving it a historic, European atmosphere. It is a favorite spot among tourists for the sights, and a favorite spot among locals for the food.

Location

The acronym “Soho” means “South of Houston st”. Soho is located in between Crosby st and Sixth ave.

Vibe

Soho has a notoriety of being packed with shoppers, where it is a common sight to lines of shoppers lining the narrow streets. The surplus of commercial buildings has caused a limited amount of parks and outdoor seating, in contrast to the surrounding neighborhoods. Many residents take refuge from the ruckus by stopping in a local cafe or coffeeshop on Mercer st.

Situated around Washington Square Park and New York University, Greenwich village extends from W 14th st to Houston st.
